REFLECTion ON THE 1ST HALF OF THE YEAR:
June closes out the first half of the year and is also a friendly reminder of all the things I didn’t get done, arghhh. But there are also a great many of things that went really well.

After reviewing year to date (YTD) sales compared to 2018 I found that we increased net income by 74%! That’s a HUGE success, extremely exciting and a bit scary. Much of that success came from our core services Squarespace web design and Mailchimp email marketing.
launched AN online shop:
This month we launched an online shop on our site. Really, it’s a one item shop for right now, but we’re working on more resources for our audience! For now, it’s housing our Canva Brand Style Guide Template for creatives.
Honestly I kind of stumbled upon creating this! I was working on completing a brand style guide for a client, who needed access to it, that wasn’t built in Adobe. So I turned to Canva as it’s a platform that was easily manageable for my client.
I searched high and low for a brand style guide for my clients to use and manipulate - turns out there are only a handful of options and NONE that did what I needed them to do.
Now if I had so much trouble finding a Canva brand style guide template I know someone else did too. So we shared the love and built a shop-able Canva template you can buy and customize for you or your clients!
on the reading list
Profit First by Mike Michalowicz (this is an affiliate link)
I found this book through the Amazon “you might like these” link and thought let me try it! I’m not quite done reading but literally the first half of this book has been golden! Mike’s witty content and easy strategy is relate-able and easy to follow. I’ve already implemented the profit first strategy - currently I’m not at a point to report any results, but next month I’ll let you know what progress I see.
Especially after reviewing the net income results compared to last year (2018) I really hope this book helps with lowering expenses and feeling like I actually see the money at the end of my profit/loss reports.
small business tip
Scheduling my day correctly is super important for a small business owner - especially for those that are a vital member of the team (not just running/managing the company). One thing that helps me is scheduling my meeting, consultations and strategy session on set days. I run all my appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays and half days on Fridays. This leaves 2.5 days to just work.
By doing this, it provides my clients with my undivided attention when needed and days where I can solely be working on projects and creativity.
I use Acuity Scheduling (this is an affiliate link) for booking my appointments. It’s easy and integrates with Squarespace website, google calendar and Quickbooks so that all the information is provided through our platforms with no additional work from our team.
Running a small business is no small task!
We hope these monthly reports help give you a closer look inside DailyMode Studio as a small business, providing insights and helpful tools for you to grow your dream business!
