8 Reasons You Should Be Using Email Marketing
Today (March 13, 2019), Instagram had a worldwide service outage that left thousands of people unable to post. If you’re like me you probably spent a little longer than normal trying to log into you account with no success and chucking it up to a forgotten password. Only to find out hours later it’s a huge outage. Now, it may sound unimportant to some but for every minute that Instagram is down, marketing opportunities are missed and your audience is not getting your hardworking content.
For this reason, email marketing is critical in reaching your audience. Here are 8 reasons why:

One of my favorite things about email marketing is the ability to prepare automated sales funnels to boost your business. 2. Email will be around forever
Email has a long history of stability! There are over 3.7 billion email users in the world currently, which means the projected number of users by 2021 is 4.1 billion. (Statista) This is our number one source of communicating for businesses right now - allowing email marketing platforms to grow and reach your audience.
3. Email is an open platform
Social platforms like Instagram have updated their algorithm to reduce the amount of followers who will see your post, unless they are paid advertisements. This means that majority of your audience will not see your content in their news feeds in real-time (bummer right).
The issue with social media platforms is that they’re owned and controlled by third parties. Email isn’t owned or controlled by any one particular entity. It’s an open communication platform and there are several platforms that provide access to send and receive emails.

People check their email everyday for work, appointments, promotions, etc.
Social media is a more relaxed communication platform and is generally used for leisure. Email, on the other hand, is a much more professional platform and people expect to receive information.

It’s clear from these statistics that email is a cost-effective channel for your marketing toolbox, but why does it outperform other channels so significantly when it comes to ROI?
It comes down to delivering highly personalized and relevant messages. Unlike social media networks where you send status updates to every follower regardless of their location, interests & purchase history, email allows you to be hyper-targeted with your communications.

Email marketing allows you to stay in consistent communication with your audience. Sending personalized emails gives your subscriber’s list feeling like they’re on the top of your to-dos. This ultimately builds brand trust - customers feel appreciated and that you really care about them (hopefully you do or your in it for the wrong reasons). By doing this boost your engagements of brand awareness, increase your visibility, grow you email list and boost your income. All of this by using emails that touch on subscriber’s interest.
